So you've been enjoying the warm, inviting glow of your wax burner, filling your home with delightful scents. But now, it's time to clean out the wax residue and start fresh. Don't worry, we've got you covered with this simple guide on how to deep-clean your tealight wax burner.
What You'll Need
Before you begin, gather the following supplies:
- Paper towels or Cotton pads
- Warm, soapy water
- Small brush/old toothbrush
Step 1: Let it Cool
First things first, make sure your wax burner has cooled down completely. You don't want to risk burning yourself while cleaning.
Step 2: Remove the Wax
Here at Coorie HQ our preferred method of cleaning a wax burner is to first of all pop the burner in the freezer (yep, the whole thing - trust me!) then after around 15-20 mins, remove from the freezer and the wax disk should simply pop out of the burner!
Step 3: Wipe Away Residue
Use a paper towel or cotton pad to wipe away any remaining wax residue. Be thorough and make sure to clean all the nooks and crannies of the burner.
Step 4: Wash with Soapy Water
Fill your sink or a basin with warm, soapy water. Submerge the wax burner and let it soak for a few minutes. This will help loosen any stubborn residue. Then, use a small brush or old toothbrush to scrub away any remaining wax. Rinse the burner thoroughly with clean water.
(Needless to say, these instructions are for cleaning a tealight burner only, please don’t submerge your electric burner into a basin of water!)
Step 5: Dry and Reassemble
After washing, use a clean cloth or paper towel to dry the burner completely. Make sure there is no moisture left before reassembling the burner.
Step 6: Enjoy a Fresh Start
Now that your wax burner is clean and ready to go, you can fill it with your favourite wax melts and enjoy a fresh start. Remember to clean your burner regularly to maintain its performance and prolong its lifespan.
Cleaning out a wax burner doesn't have to be a daunting task. With these simple steps, you can keep your burner looking and smelling great. Happy cleaning!
