Soy Wax: Why I Love It!

When I first started making candles and wax melts for Coorie Home Co, I knew I wanted them to be more than just lovely scents. For me, it was about creating something that felt special in your home - something cosy, natural, and kind. That’s why I chose soy wax right from the very beginning, and I’ve never looked back.

Why Soy Wax Stood Out

I remember trying out different types of wax when I first started experimenting, and I was struck by how different soy wax felt. It melted smoothly, held fragrance beautifully, and gave off such a clean, gentle scent throw compared to paraffin. It just felt… better. Better for the home, better for the air you breathe, and better for the planet.

A Natural, Sustainable Choice

Soy wax is made from soybean oil — a natural, renewable resource. Unlike paraffin, which is made from petroleum, soy is biodegradable and eco-friendly. Choosing soy wax was my way of making sure Coorie products were as sustainable and kind as possible, while still feeling like a treat for your home.

Fragrance That Lasts

One of my favourite things about soy wax is how it carries fragrance. It melts slowly and evenly, giving you a consistent, long-lasting scent that lingers softly in the background. It’s not overpowering - just that gentle, cosy aroma that makes a house feel like home.

Vegan & Cruelty-Free

It was also important to me that everything I make is plant-based and cruelty-free. Soy wax is 100% vegan, which means you can enjoy your candles and wax melts knowing they’re created with both care and conscience.

Sourced With Care

Every bit of soy wax I use is sourced from suppliers who meet high ethical and environmental standards. That’s something I’ll never compromise on. When you choose Coorie Home Co, you’re choosing products that are kind from start to finish - from the ingredients right through to the final glow of a candle in your home.

For me, wax isn’t just a material I use - it’s part of the heart of Coorie Home Co. It’s what helps me create candles and melts that are clean, cosy, and made with care. And I think once you try it, you’ll love it just as much as I do.
