What exactly *is* a Wax Burner?

Before we get started, let's clarify what a wax burner is. A wax burner, also known as a wax warmer or wax melter, is a device designed to melt scented wax melts and release their fragrance into the air. It typically consists of a base, a source of heat (usually a tealight unless you’re using an electric burner), and a dish or tray to hold the wax melts.

Step 1: Choose the Right Wax Burner

First things first, make sure you have a suitable wax burner. You can be rest assured that all of our burners are suitable for use with wax melts, however if you’re out and about and see one on the shelf of a shop - flip it upside down and it’ll tell you on the label if it’s suitable for wax melts or if it’s only suitable as an oil burner. (Oil burners tend to have a smaller bowl and are unsafe for use with wax melts)

Step 2: Prepare Your Wax Burner

Before using your wax burner, it's important to clean the dish or tray to remove any residue from previous melts. This will ensure a clean and pure fragrance experience. Clean leftover wax by lighting a tealight underneath for a few seconds then allowing the wax to slide out, you may want to keep some cotton wool or kitchen roll handy to give it a quick wipe also at this stage.

Step 3: Add the Wax Melts

Now it's time to add the wax melts to the dish or tray of your wax burner. Depending on the size of your burner, you may need to break the wax melts into smaller pieces. Start with one or two wax melts and adjust the amount based on the desired fragrance intensity.

Step 4: Turn on the Wax Burner

Once the wax melts are in place, pop an unscented 4 hour tealight underneath, or switch on if using an electric burner. As the wax melts, it will release its fragrance into the air, creating a pleasant aroma throughout your hone.

Step 5: Enjoy the Fragrance

Now it's time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful fragrance filling your space. The scent will continue to diffuse as long as the wax is melted. You can leave your wax burner on for several hours, but remember to never leave it unattended.

Step 6: Clean Up

Once you're done enjoying the fragrance, it's time to clean up your wax burner. Turn off the burner or extinguish the tealight and allow the wax to cool and solidify. You can then remove the solid wax from the dish or tray using the same instructions as in Step 2

And there you have it! By following these simple steps, you can effectively use a wax burner with our wax melts to create a delightful and inviting atmosphere in your home. Happy melting!
